Below you will see favorites from our sessions we do professionally, and also loads of personal nonsense that we hope at least will entertain you.  If nothing less, you can keep up on our adorable children.  Really, they are worth the trip back here time and time again in and of itself.

My name is Jess.  My hubby is Brett.  We are crazy about each other, our 4 babies, and our art.  Welcome to our world.

alex {a senior session}

After a week of resting, I AM BACK!  I am running a bit behind, so bear with me while I crank out some goodness here over the next few days. :)  Be prepared for some blog lovin’ overload!!

I have known Alex since he was probably 4 or 5 years old, but little Alex, is not so little anymore.  He has always been such a sweet kid, and it just amazes me that he is a man now.  Brett and I met up with Alex to do photos and honestly, Senior boy photos make me a bit nervous.  I don’t know why, I guess because I mostly do girls and they are easy to pose….boys just seem harder.  But Alex was great, and we just had FUN the whole time.

We started off with an urban look, and it suited him so well.  He had this amazingly classic “James Dean” kinda feel.

Great smile:-)

I found this doorway and it was love at first sight.

Alex is into the totally rad “parkour”…ever heard of it?  If not, be sure to checkout parkour here and to catch some YouTube parkour goodness as well.  Here’s Alex showing us a couple of moves in a doorway, because there was no where we could find to play!

(Alex reminds me of Jason Bourne in “The Bourne Identity” in these!)

Then we headed out to my parents field which looked super cool right now.

Relaxing in the tall grasses…

Thanks Alex for hangin’ with us!

We wish you all the best in your future.  Take care of yourself, and don’t do any dangerous jumps out there.:)

nate + heather + brayden {a family session}

Well the end of this year has proven to be family session time around here, so here is another beautiful one!  I “met” Heather when she stumbled upon our blog. Heather is a photographer herself in the Northern Kentucky area, so I was super excited when she asked about doing a family session for her! She has a wonderful husband Nate, and a cutie pie little guy named Brayden.  She also has an adorable baby bump and is expecting a new little guy in a couple months. :)

The day we had lined up for our session turned out to be terribly cold.  Now, I have said this on many of my sessions, but this was THE COLDEST SESSION we have ever been on!  The high was 26 degrees that day! Talk about brave.  But, looking through these images….it was totally worth it.

Brayden is a doll. He arrived with a belly full of PEZ, and an adorable smile. :)

This photo just makes me SMILE so big. :)

We had to get a few shots of the precious little baby in the belly.  Heather saw this painting and told us that the nursery is in these types of colors, so it was perfect.

Heather, you look beautiful!

Trying to make Brayden laugh!!! It worked.

If you look down to the right you will see an “N.”  We thought that was cute, because inside the belly is little “Nolan.”  :)

I LOVE THIS!  His expressions were priceless.

And this one too. :)  I just LOVE IT!

Kisses from big brother.

Then we took some shots of just mom and dad together.  I really loved so many of these that narrowing them down was quite hard.  The light was just perfect that day….(Even though I felt frozen and moving around was even harder!  I had on a coat, gloves, scarf and hat….so really I need to shut up.  They had to be FREEZING, but you would never know!)

A favorite of mine!!  Just beautiful.

Another few shots together….I love that Brayden did this on his own.

And then towards the end, Brayden was goofing around and dancing for us. :)

Heather, Nate and Brayden…thank you so much for asking us to do a session for your family.  I know we didn’t chit chat a lot because we were all frozen solid :)  but we really enjoyed our time together and being able to meet your beautiful family (and to Nate’s brother and family too-thanks!).  Best of luck Heather on the end of your pregnancy, and I can’t wait to see what little Nolan looks like when he arrives!

jonathan + samantha + mattea {a family session}

Despite the cold and the snow this sweet little family traveled from Indianapolis to Cincinnati for a family session.  We were so happy and flattered that they did!  It was so wonderful that they were able to have gorgeous snow falling during their entire session.  It was beautiful!

Just look at this precious family……

Since it was so chilly, we shot some of the session inside the Krohn’s Conservatory near downtown Cincinnati.

Meet little Mattea…the star of the show. :)

We instantly loved how lovey they were with one another.

Mattea just turned one, and she is so STINKIN CUTE!!  I could eat her up!

There was a little train going around, and she was growling at it as it went by. :)  I love this age.

A few upside down kisses…..

And then back outside we went!  I love how her little bear is in her photos.  That will probably be so precious to look back on.:)

A smile while walking with Daddy.

A family sqqquueeezzze!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE.  I think Mattea knows she is LOVED, and that is awesome.

After a while Mattea was almost finished modeling…so this is her “I’m done” face. I don’t blame her, it was COLD!

I took Mattea to see the ducks and  Brett got some of just Jon + Sam.  They are adorably in love.

They told us the story of how they met….on a school trip in Italy.  (Che romantico! Sorry if I botched that.)

So sweet.

One of my absolute favorites of the session.  Moments like this are what make our jobs the best ever.  (Mattea’s hair and all!!)

While I was taking photos of mom and dad alone, Brett was getting a few pointers from the expert.

Thanks Samantha, Jonathan and Mattea for traveling to Cincy and braving the weather to have us do your session!  We really enjoyed getting to know you guys, and you are such an adorable little family.  :)

SamandJon - Jess & Brett. Thanks so much for making what could have been an intimidating experience so much fun! We know it isn’t easy to get great photos of two not-so-photogenic people and a baby, but we absolutely love these photos. Thanks again for spending the day with us.

December 29, 2008 - 10:27 am

Maya - I am in love with the snow shots!!!

some studio3z news.

Well, I had hoped to have one new surprise for you all today….but alas, it is not quite finished.  The end of the year is always so chock full and we are busting our little behinds over here to get things in order.  (I have had one of those weeks…you know the kind?)  Anyhow, our first big surprise is our new “in love” website dedicated to our engagement and wedding portfolio!  We wanted an organized place our future bride-to-be’s could go to and see more of our work without having to wade through massive amounts of children to get there.   This is just the first of our THREE new sites to debut in the next couple months….yes, you heard me correct, three.  Not to mention the new blog look on it’s way.  We are busy little bees over here.

My original plan was to debut the site on here today and get your feedback….so I thought I would give you a taste of what is coming for our “in love” site. Soooo, whatcha think??

Other things on the way:

  • Photos of 2008 coming soon!! I will pick my favorites in each category and then you will vote your favorite!  The winner in each category will receive a free 8×10.
  • In January we are going to have some free time on the blog and I am going to be posting WHATEVER YOU GUYS WANT. Sooooo, tell me what you would like to see on here.  If you a photographer with a question, or you just want to see more photos of cute Gabriel (I don’t blame you) just drop me a comment and tell me what you want to see on the blog.  I have a few fun ideas brewing. :)

  • We have a trip to California in the works!! That’s right, studio3z is hoping to go out to the west coast for photography sessions.  If you are interested write us at info@studio3z.com for more information.
  • We are already booking our Spring sessions. We are also scaling back on the amount of sessions we do, so if you want to get scheduled you need to do that sooner than later!

That’s all I have for now.  My brain hurts.

December 12, 2008 - 12:37 pm

holly rouse - photos of gabey?!?!?!
