If you have landed here...bless your soul.  Welcome to our little tiny corner of the cyber world, based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Below you will see favorites from our sessions we do professionally, and also loads of personal nonsense that we hope at least will entertain you.  If nothing less, you can keep up on our adorable children.  Really, they are worth the trip back here time and time again in and of itself.

My name is Jess.  My hubby is Brett.  We are crazy about each other, our 4 babies, and our art.  Welcome to our world.

it’s my birthday and i’ll cry if i want to.

Ok, so maybe turning 30 is not THAT bad. I woke up today and felt great. When my sister called me when we were on the way to church she asked the greatest question people ask on your birthday, “So how does it feel to be 30?” My response, “Well, I really feel that I have reached an age where I will finally be appreciated, you know, like a grown-up, in fact I feel very distinguished.” “Really?” she said, “No.” I said.

Welcome to Jessica’s land of dry sarcasm. And I heard this only gets better with age too.

I realized today that my 20′s were AWESOME. I mean, I really got a lot done:)I got married at 20, had my first baby at 21, then had three more over the course of the next 8 years, and then started my dream business at 28. Now I am 30, and Brett and I will be married 10 years in a few months! Wow. Oh, and we are super excited because WE are getting OUR photos taken by some awesomeness in a few months!! (hmm…who could it be?)

So here is what I’ve been doing on my birthday day:

Went to church, came home and took a nap (which I never take the time to do), wrote this blog, then I am going to Ikea with my hubby (alone), going to dinner at my favorite Peruvian restaurant, and then going to see BATMAN tongiht!! Yea! Fun day.

Thanks for all the sweet emails and birthday wishes! You all are the best!!:)

Photo props to my 8 year old photographer daughter. She was workin’ that camera!!

renee’s mee-mee {a tribute}

One on my oldest and dearest friends Renee asked me last March to do something special for her. Her 97 year old grandmother was not doing very well, and she wanted a unique way to remember her when her time came to leave this world. She asked me if I would go to her nursing home and do a photo session of her, (she calls her Grandma “Mee Mee”) and then she wanted to make two photos books. Her plan was to give the photo books to her Mother and her Aunt when her Grandmother passed.

Very recently my dear friend lost her Grandmother. I asked her permission to share some of the photos that we captured of Mee Mee last March to share with others. She gave her books to her Mother and Aunt after the funeral, and they were very touched by Renee’s thoughtful idea.

Here is Renee’s beautiful Mee Mee.

Heather España - This is so beautiful I can’t even talk right now – an amazing reminder of why I do what I do. I made my husband stop watching his movie and come look at these amazing images that made me cry. Thank-you so much for sharing this gorgeous goodbye to Mee-Mee.

wrecklessgirl - you have me in tears. this hits home so strongly, i cannot even begin to tell you how…

July 26, 2008 - 5:05 pm

Lisa - I see the family resemblance. Makes my heart sad to think of the day when I will not be able to visit with our grandma and watch the kids kiss and love her. I can see why she’s want these pictures to remember her by.

lukas + family {a lifestyle session}

We had a blast photographing little Lukas again with his Mom and Dad. What we love about these guys is how they are so laid back and can just “hang out” together while we document them as a family. They don’t feel like they always need to be looking at the camera or posing. They just do their thing, and we get to be a part. We love it!:)

Lukas just turned 1 in June, so he was just so cute with all his new noises, words and expressions. Here he is crawling on the picnic tables at the park, and it reminded us of catching his first crawl which you can view HERE. He is just so darn cute!!!

He loved to swing at the park:)

a little peek-a-boo….

then we found the creek. (bye bye dry clothes!!)

Then he got all dried off and held by daddy.

I just love this candid moment. (I turned around and snapped over my shoulder.)

we let him play with the flowers, but then….

he saw me and crawled right up.:)

He wanted to check out what type of camera I had, and then make sure I was capturing his good side.

clapping….I love how babies do something, and then check to see their parents reaction.:)

Loving on Mommy.

playing some peek-a-boo with his Daddy:)

ahhh. precious babies. you just want to eat them up.:)

July 24, 2008 - 10:47 pm

holly rouse - my mom wants to do a session with the side walk chalk sometime…just fyi. this evening made me sooooooo happy. even though i know you’re a creeper now. oh and the tiramisu fell again…on to the floor..it is now in one of my dogs’ bellies. this is a super random comment. basically, thank you. AND GET BACK ON SCHEDULE WITH YOUR BLOG. (don’t touch me!)

July 25, 2008 - 9:19 pm

holly rouse - give me a new entry to comment on. ;)
here’s a blog i found for you to stalk: http://www.shannonsewell.com/theblankpage/?p=77
i love the color in those pics. oh, and what was the blog you wanted me to check out?

the big three oh-no.

In six days my twenties will be a thing of the past. Left in the dust. See ya.

All I got to say is, YIKKKES. I’m scared to be thirty, and a bit bewildered that it is here, ALREADY. How did this happen?  Seems like yesterday I turned 21 (and I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter!!)  :)

Anybody have anything good to say about your 30′s??  Please!???

July 21, 2008 - 5:49 pm

wrecklessgirl - well…i’m looking forward to being 30. i think my 30s will be the best darn years of my life. honestly. because so far, my 20s have been 80% troublesome, terrifying, trying, terrible. i’m hoping the 30s bring on a new error of energy and life. from what i hear…they’re wonderful. do yourself a favor and re-watch 13 going on 30 ;)

July 21, 2008 - 7:08 pm

holly rouse - lady, i haven’t even reached my 20′s. BUT my mom was 33 when she had me (i’m an only child), and she is still absolutely beautiful and fun. so you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about! see you in a few days! talk to you soooooooon.

July 21, 2008 - 11:53 pm

lucy - life changing. piece of cake. it’s 40 that you should worry about!

July 22, 2008 - 9:49 am

jenny - I have loved my thirties so far and 34 is fast approaching…I think when I turned 30 it just mentally hit me that I guess there is really no turning back now, I’m a grown up, whether I like it or not!

July 23, 2008 - 10:29 pm

Ashie - When you start to fret just think….”My sister is 22 and people always think I am younger”…..I have no doubt this will still happen throughout your thirties. You are the most beautiful person I know…inside and out! I love you sissy poo and I am so proud of yoU!
