family of five {a lifestyle session}

We have the privilege of calling this lovely family our neighbors.  Although they would think we are silly for saying it, they are just about perfect in every way.  They have 3 of the most adorable children, and really since we have lived in our home for the past 2 and a half years, they have been nothing but incredibly kind and generous.  When the dad, Matt, told us that all Angie wanted for Mother’s Day was a session with us, we were thrilled!  We hooked him up with a gift certificate, and recently we did this family session before school got going.  From skipping stones on the lake, hanging out in the field, to fishing, the whole session seemed to capture the essence of summer and I think that is exactly what Angie was wanting. Honestly, there were so many photos that I loved from this session that it made choosing difficult. I had a REALLLY hard time.

First you can meet the three kiddos.   :)

This is Nick, the middle man.

And Jake…the oldest of the pack.

And last but not least is princess Josie.  (otherwise known as “best buddy in the WORLD” to my kids.)

Here is their Mom and Dad- Angie and Matt.  I know they were slightly uncomfortable getting photos of just the two of them, (once you have kids it’s hard to be without them) but I ended up with so many favorites of these two!  It was ridiculous!!

I love this one. :)

The brothers!!

Handsome #1, and  handsome #2.

Little beauty.  I was asking her questions about school here, and she was thinking. :)

More of mom and Dad.  I just couldn’t help myself!

Josie was at our house the other day and Brett asked her if she would like the photo of her brother’s kissing her blown up REALLLLY big to hang over her couch.  She said “No WAY! I want the one of us rolling down the hill!”

Wowzers.  No wonder your children are adorable….You two are beautiful!!

We have a photo of our family like this in our house that we set up and took, and Angie has always loved it.  So we recreated it for her.:)

The boys decided to fish for a while….

Ok so I said, “How about you boys kiss Josie!”  She kept moving back every time they would try.  Finally Jake grabbed her, and after they kissed her, Nick is wiping off his lips.  They are so stinkin cute. :)

One of Brett’s favorites.

Josie looks JUST like her Mama, and the boys look like their Dad.

Thanks guys! We had a great time with you, as always. See ya in the backyard.:)

danielle {senior session}

Wow oh wow!  Danielle….can you say BEAUTIFUL??  Because that is sooo what you are. :)

So, let’s see here. I had the pleasure of meeting up with beautiful Danielle to do her photos at a beautiful park here in Cincinnati.  Her beautiful Mama, beautiful Aunt, and beautiful cousin came along with us.  AND GUESS WHAT?  We had the most BEAUTIFUL DAY to work with!!  (Ok, a new adjective is now in order.)  But really, it was the perfect temperature, the sky was so blue with pretty white fluffy clouds, and the sunset was stunning!!  To top it off, Danielle was really a natural.  She had loads of advice from her entourage (that’s all I’m saying, I promise:)) but really I found that my favorite moments of Danielle were those where she just was herself, unscripted.

This photo screams 70′s, and I LOVE it. :)

One of my favorites!

Maybe it’s just me, but I think here Danielle looks like a blonde Claire Danes.

I love how she wrinkles her nose when she smiles! :)

ANOTHER FAV!!!

This is where she gets the CUUUTE nose-wrinkling thing!  Her beautiful Mama. :)

She wants a peace tattoo….

So, people were walking their cute (TINY) puppy and Danielle’s Mom asked if we could borrow him for a picture.  Then we told the puppies parents to check the blog for his pic. :)

Gorgeous!!

Then we had the crazy idea to get in the fountain.  SURE!  Danielle was up for whatever.

I love this shot too.

Thanks guys for a wonderful evening!:)

jessica w. - Shut. Up. Danielle you are gorgeous!! I can’t even pick a favorite. My little cousin is all grown up! Can’t wait to see the rest of them. Fantastic job, Jess!

beauty. {full blown}

Recently I had a few canvases made up for our soon-to-be in home studio.  Let me tell you, they are BREATHTAKING.  I chose a few of my most favorite photos from recent shoots this summer, and I am just thrilled with the results!!  Really these pieces are so well made, and are truly heirloom quality. They even come ready to hang.

The photo of Dana below is from her maternity session (if that isn’t obvious) which you can view HERE.  I LOVED this session, like, to the moon and back!!  She was so stunning, and I knew the second I took this shot, “This is going to be a big canvas.”   I made Dana into a 20×30 gallery wrap canvas.

Here is my favorite shot from the session of my brother which was ROCKING!!  You can (and should) view that HERE.:)  This canvas is a 20×40.

There really is no real point to this photo.  I really just shamelessly wanted to show off my window boxes. :)  Aren’t they pretty?  Ha!  This reminds me of the gnome in Amelie that she takes photos of in different places.

Close-up details of the wrap.

And our third gallery canvas again in a 20×30.  Brett’s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G shot he captured during Amber and Andy’s engagement session which you can view HERE if you’d like.

Please contact us at info@studio3z.com if you would be interested in getting a gallery wrap canvas from your session with us!

August 15, 2008 - 8:57 am

jenny - I love them all, and I have to say I’m a little bit jealous of your window boxes :)

August 19, 2008 - 8:42 am

Cathy and David - Very cool! :)

my surprise. {it surprised me….really}

I honestly can’t believe it.  I pride myself on being the person who never has been surprised, can not be surprised, so just don’t think you can, you might as well give up.  I have ears, eyes, and any other type of sensory in the back of my head, and honestly not much gets past me.  Get the point?  Well my dear friend Becky, little sister Ash, and Mom proved otherwise.  Since my birthday was 3 weeks ago, I never saw it coming.  At all.

My Mom emailed and said we were having a “family time” at their house on Sunday afternoon.  Never thought anything of it, so when the kids got up from nap we packed everyone up and headed out.  Ash (my baby sis) called and said, “Mom wants to know when you will be here?”  I said, “Man, I emailed her like 3 times saying after the kids got up-3:30-4?” What the heck.  So we head on over.  I am wearing my grubs, not looking all that great…foot up, jamming out singing “Embrace Me” by Greg Laswell, when we start approaching my parents house.  They live on an old farm and we have this big field right before the house. All of the sudden I see all these cars parked out there. “That’s weird,” I think quickly, but 1 second later I see a huddle of people on the street and I think, “That’s even wierder.” (Yes, I think with made up words.)  At this point I am still zoned out, not having a clue what is going on.  The funny thing was all these people are standing around with a puzzled look in their faces (they were questioning whether that was our car or not), and I realize it is my parents, Aunt and Uncle, church friends, and my high school pals. What??!!  I saw my friend Becky holding a cake and then it clicked, but I still felt sorta out of place, I mean in my mind-my birthday was long gone!

Here’s what the scene looked like…I grabbed these off you myspace Meredith!

Then Brett whipped out his camera too.  I was overwhelmed.  In shock.

Back at the house with my Grandma and hugging Becky who coordinated the party.

Man, there were some good EATS!! My Mama knows how to feed people.

I am holding my Mom’s killer chocolate chip cookies.  I don’t know who I was looking at, but I know exactly what this face means:  “Have you tried these??! shesh. They are da bomb.”

That’s a lot of candles.

Wow.  I seem a bit under dressed.

My girls from school. Husbands were making fun of us because every time we are together we take a group shot.  They were saying, “So here we are August 07, and here we are January of 08, and here’s our spring shot in March 08….”  :)  Well we added another, August 08.

By the end of the party, Gabe was DONE.

After everyone left Brett wanted a picture in the tall grasses in the field.  I was not hip on another shoot in my recycling tee, (if you are my facebook friend you know I’ve-been there, done that) but we were just playing around.

Woah Ash.  BEAUTY!!

My cute baby sister…she’s single men.  But warning- you’d have to deal with me. :)

All in all we had a great day. The weather was AMAZING!! I realize looking back that I don’t do surprises well.  Maybe because I am a planner and when I have something set in my mind and get thrown for a loop, it is hard. It seriously took like an hour to sink in!:)  But I am so thankful to the family and friends who put this together and came out to celebrate the big 3-0 with little ol’ me. :)  I am a very lucky girl.

Love to you all!!!     ~jess

jessica w. - fun day! too bad we’re missing tracy and jess g for our group shots! oh, and ashley, you’re g-o-u-r-e-g-o-u-s!!

August 15, 2008 - 9:22 am

rebecky - What a great day. I like that you got a picture of most of the people that came to celebrate your big 3-0. The picture of the food layout was delicious and Beautiful sisters in tall grasses is a Masterpiece. Those Wallace offspring are easy on the eyes.
