Below you will see favorites from our sessions we do professionally, and also loads of personal nonsense that we hope at least will entertain you.  If nothing less, you can keep up on our adorable children.  Really, they are worth the trip back here time and time again in and of itself.

amy + caleb {in love}

Chances are if you had a session with us this past summer, Amy was one of our biggest helpers.  She was the one at home with our 4 babies.  Our kiddos loved Amy and were so sad to see her leave to go back to school this past August.  My four year old son that loves to sing always says that Amy would sing to him before bed, and she “sings like a princess.” :)

Amy has always been a big fan of our work.  She told me a long time ago that we would be her photographer for all the big things that happen in her life….well, right after going back to school, her boyfriend Caleb proposed.  We were thrilled that she asked us to do her wedding this coming February, and we had a total blast hanging out with Amy and Caleb to shoot some fun engagement photos.  Amy wanted to go for a look that was trendy and urban, and I have a feeling these accomplished just that. :)

Love is grand.

Um, I think your babies are going to be beautiful. :)

Uh oh….watch out!

Here’s a little duo action.  Brett’s point of view….

….and mine.

This is the photo I said the mom’s would love.

I love how they laugh together….

Yummy sunlight.

Amy you are flippin gorgeous!!

LOVE this shot.

Another one of our double shots.  This time this is Brett….

…and this is mine.

Another FAV!!!

As soon as I saw this sign I knew it had to be mine. I think they thought I was nuts.

Caleb being a little smart*$%.  He had his hand down at his side and I said, “Caleb you need to do something with that arm…”  This is what he did. :)

Amy and Caleb are both musicians.  Caleb plays the piano, and Amy is an AMAZING singer and guitar player. She will probably be embarrassed but go here and hear a song that she wrote and is singing.  Simply AMAZING!!

Caleb played the song from the movie “Once” and they sang together in a little coffee house.

Amy and Caleb, thank you so much for a great evening together. :)  We are so excited for your wedding in 3 MONNNTTHHHSS!!!! :)

love~ Jess and Brett

corinne {a senior session}

Last week I had the pleasure of doing a session with Corinne.  She is the best friend of Holly, who I call my official “Senior Rep” for 2008 because she has sent so many fun people my way!!  I met Corinne this past summer when I did Holly’s session, and I have been looking forward to her session since.

We had too much fun together.  We ran around being silly, doing our best to try and stay warm.  It was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING out.  Holly and I were all geared up with gloves and hats, but poor Corinne had to brave the chilly weather!  She did awesome. :)

We wandered down some random alleys and found some goodness….

Whatever this blue barrel was, I loved the way it brought out her eyes!!

So fun having friends around! :)

Love, love, love your EYES Corinne!!

She is crazy about birds and really had hoped to incorporate some into her shoot.  This kind old man was watching us, and threw some bread crumbs down to bring the pigeons closer.

This is one of my favorites.

Couple BFF shots. :)  Holly is modeling it up!

See the little birdie over her shoulder? :)

We went into this little children’s bookstore seeking warmth, and hoping for some photo spots.  I thought it was adorable!!

We especially loved the little kiddo signs….

Cozy up for some story telling….Remember what we were reading girls??

Little fun with light….

We thought she was crazy, but she went out in the cold anyway.  I’m glad she did, because I really like this shot.

So much laughter!!!  I must be really funny.;)

Thanks Corinne for putting up with some COOOOLLLD weather for photos with me!!  I had so much fun with you and Holly.  I totally loved being your personal paparazzi for the evening. :)

power to the little people.

If you are sitting around today still not sure of who to vote for….I have a great option for you.  He may be pint sized, and not speak English very well yet, but he gives you reason to believe in something better.  I think he could really shake things up in this country.  His message could be summed up in this: “peas” for everyone, and not just one banana, but bananas all day long for everyone that would like them…Messes are okay, in fact the bigger, the better.  Oh yeah, everyone will have a mommy who walks behind you and cleans it up….2 naps everyday, because rest is very important so you don’t get cranky. Potty?  Potty what?  No, this little guy’s message is to be DEPENDENT-down with independence.

As Gabe was gearing up this morning for his campaign, he chose his wardrobe with extreme caution.  He knew that what he wore would make a bold statement.  It was now or never.  This statement could perhaps be his most important- his platform if you will for saving our environment.

He’s going out to find his campaign scooter….

Just a quick stop to admire the wind blowing through the trees….

Deep in thought about his speech he is giving today.

HEY!  You need to practice what you preach about conservation!

:)

Enjoy your day everyone.  Hope you got out and rocked your right to vote! :)  We sure did.

November 4, 2008 - 4:37 pm

beginning week randomness.

I am catching up today after a weekend of running around and two super fun sessions. Yesterday was one of those days, you know the kind where you want to run and jump back in bed? Well, we started off the morning by getting up early for church because we wanted to get there a few minutes early…I always put Gabriel down for a nap for a little while and wake him up when we walk out the door. We got to church and looked around wondering what was going on? Where is everyone?? WE FORGOT TO SET OUR CLOCKS BACK. Oh JOY. We could have slept longer and our baby could have gotten his full nap and not be so cranky. If you are a planner then you will completely understand when I say, I felt like a failure. How could I forget?? I was mad….at myself. I had hurried us all that morning, and now we had an hour and 15 minutes to kill before church. Anyhow, I remained in a pretty grumpy mood until our shoot yesterday afternoon which brightened my mood so quickly, I forgot I had a bad day at all.:)

This was Gabe yesterday having fun while we did a session of some friends. He kept saying, “ball” and throwing all the mini-pumpkins.

Today I woke to the FedEx dude who was REALLY early, but he brought me a new friend, so I quickly forgave him.:)

Isn’t she pretty? What should I name her??

I have wanted a laptop for so long. It will be so nice to be able to leave my little office area and take it to be outside with the kids, or take it along places instead of being tied to a desktop. I know, you probably think I am ancient.

In other news, Brett had the pleasure of going to a recent Libertarian Party rally to hear their presidential candidate Bob Barr speak. I couldn’t get a sitter so I stayed home.:(  If you haven’t heard of him you should check out his website at www.bobbarr2008.com. Did you think we were only unconventional in our picture taking??  Oh, think again. :)  Brett has done some volunteer work for the Libertarian Party of Ohio, and in the past helped run the LPO website. Here are a few shots he got down on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.

This is the Libertarian Party of Ohio’s Chair, Kevin Knedler with Bob Barr.

Here’s to a good week for us all!!!:)

November 3, 2008 - 8:48 pm

Amanda - Jealous of your laptop! We were just scoping out a macbook today, you’ll have to update us all on your thoughts afte using it a bit. ;)

I have heard of Bob Barr! Hubby was just saying the other day that he really wished there was more coverage of ALL the candidates, not just the 2 major party candidates.

Been enjoying your blog for some time, thought I’d finally comment! ;)

November 3, 2008 - 9:06 pm

esther - Hey Brett, you having a beer with our future prez?? Take care and God bless.

November 3, 2008 - 10:00 pm

lucy - love your new mac baby. she is quite beautiful and shiny!

November 3, 2008 - 10:24 pm

laurie eller - Okay. The “shiny new toy” is a doll. :) Be careful with her though, because my laptop (my precious Dell) was dropped on her side a few weeks ago when I FELL going UP the steps. Yup. FELL GOING UP the steps. Nice. I know. My little precious now has a crack on her side and the cost to repair is nearly as much as a new one. So. I got to thinking? Maybe I should just get another one… only PINK. Yes. That shall by my plan. And soon.

Take care of your new baby when “taking” her outside, in your bedroom, in your car… or um, er, uh… when walking UP the steps. :) *wink*

Congrats! (and no, you’re not ancient, just a late bloomer) *smile*

Hope you don´t forget all the other friends around the world ;-)
