Below you will see favorites from our sessions we do professionally, and also loads of personal nonsense that we hope at least will entertain you.  If nothing less, you can keep up on our adorable children.  Really, they are worth the trip back here time and time again in and of itself.

My name is Jess.  My hubby is Brett.  We are crazy about each other, our 4 babies, and our art.  Welcome to our world.

simplicity.

“The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.”

Robert Louis Stevenson

Maya Laurent - Love these. Amazing what we can see when we stop to look!

dawn+michael+lauren+isabella {studio3z family}

Looking at these photos takes me back to the beautiful sunshine that is so prevalent in Southern California!  If I didn’t love it so much, I’d hate it. :)  So this session was another family session we had the pleasure of doing on our recent visit to the Los Angeles area.

We met up at their beautiful home where Dawn and Michael and their two girls Lauren and Isabella came outside to play for a bit.  The girls love to swing….we actually had a hard time getting them off!

1

I loved this little nook in their yard.  Lauren is older, and Isabella is the baby.

While Lauren played catch with her Daddy, Isabella sat and tossed the ball to her Mom.

17

She was curious as to why we were there. :)

Sweet little family photo on their front steps.

Then we headed out!!  Dad pulled out his amazing vintage 1960 red Porsche (are you kidding me??!!), and combined with the light and the coast, I felt like we were in some sort of movie scene, and Audrey Hepburn was going to walk up.

Lauren, you’re a CUTIE!

We were walking around this corner and the light just took my breathe away….

Brett took Dawn and Michael off for a couple shots of the two of them.

I stayed with the girls who were DONE at this point.  Isabella wasn’t happy to be away from Mom, but I snagged 2 frames…this was the first, and I love it.

5

Then I scooped her up and calmed her down while she waited.  Oh my goodness…so sweet.  And after not seeing my Gabie Baby for 2 days, I was needing a kiddo cuddle. :):)

3

Dawn and Michael!  Thanks so much for having us out there to do a session! We loved getting to know the 4 of you, and we look forward to doing it again. :)

Barb - These are just gorgeous. Sometimes it makes me sad that I live here instead of someplace so incredible beautiful like there. Not that we don’t have beautiful place here, but you know what I mean. Love the last one, it’s nice to see you in shots now and then :-)

Gail - You guys NAILED this session! I love it so much! And feeling a SoCal withdrawal at the moment, it was just what I needed for a Monday pick-me-up. My GOODNESS the light out there is just so magnificent! Where did you shoot these? It looks canyon-esque, which reminds me of our drive thru Malibu/around Pepperdine.

BEAUTIFUL work guys. If you decide to move out there and need a third photographer, I’M ALL IN!!!

November 2, 2009 - 11:51 am
