Even after shooting weddings for years now, I still find that I am nervous before each one. It is a mixture of adrenaline, and just anxiousness for such a big day in the lives of the couples that we are privileged to document. This wedding had a couple more factors to add. One- we had never met them. Anne was living in Chicago when they booked us, and she soon went to London to join Jed where he lives. They flew in from London right before their gorgeous Chicago wedding. Two, Anne is a photographer herself, and an AMAZING one at that!! And while Anne was just sweet as could possibly be, when you are shooting anther photographer, there is always a sense of inevitable pressure added. But honestly, after about 2 minutes into meeting them our worries went completely away. Anne and Jed are so relaxed, fun, and so incredibly kind.
Anne was just breathtaking in her wedding dress. She looked timeless.
Jed and his guys were having a good time “getting ready” as well.
This is where I would insert a joke about being able to tell that these guys are most likely European (and not American guys), by their super hot stylish shoes…..but I’ll refrain from going there.
OH I LOVED their choice of tie too.
Mr. Handsome getting ready to head out and see…..
Miss Stunning.
Our hotel lobby ROCKED so we grabbed a few bridal shots while waiting for Jed to arrive.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVVVVVE this shot!! Anne, you are totally GORGEOUS.
Anne and Jed made sure to give us plenty of time for portraits, and we couldn’t be more thankful for that!! Chicago was incredibly beautiful that day, and we took full advantage.
While shooting this scene below I felt like I was seriously in a dream…..Amazing couple, scenery, light, and a nice cool breeze on us.
Another FAVORITE. This shot is so them. Jed goofing off and making Anne laugh.
Anne’s Mom helps as they get ready to head to the church.
A sunflower was passed out to each guest.
St. James was beyond beautiful.
The speaking was split between their priest, and Jed’s Dad, and it was wonderful! P.S. Jed, I adore your Dad.
Absolutely the best toasts and speeches we’ve experienced at a wedding. One minute people would go from crying, to hysterically laughing, to the guys leading everyone in a song, to old photos being pulled out, to Mr. Moore (Jed’s Dad) telling a joke. Brett and I were just amazed at the amount of sincere love in the room for these two!
Anne and Jed, we can’t thank you enough for including us in your day. We had an incredible time with you both, and your amazing family and friends.
We wish you all the best where ever this journey called life leads you both, and we wish you many many years of loving, together!
