While we were photographing in NYC, one of my bestest friends, along with her wonderful hubster Trey, welcomed sweet baby Elijah into this world. I was sad to not be there to photograph his birth, but going to the hospital and holding the precious guy when I returned, made my sadness melt away pretty quickly.

Brett and I went over one morning when he was about a week old for a sweet little family session. I’ve been anticipating the day that these two would be parents, because I just know they will be so wonderful for this job….which is one of the best jobs to have I might add.

I told Trey, “Real men change diapers.” Is it not true mamas?

My friend Jess did Elijah’s nursery up so cute. He also is STOCKED on some adorable boy clothes….some I can’t wait to see him in since they were his buddy Gabe’s.

Love you Jess, Trey, and Elijah! Can’t wait to watch your little guy grow in strength and love.

This precious little nugget was born at the beginning of June and weighed a whooping 5 lbs! He’s such a little beauty…and yes, you can call a baby boy a beauty. Maelyn and Rob are the very proud mama and daddy to new little guy, Miles. He was so chill and had the sweetest disposition during our session.

Brett and I shot a fun engagement session in NYC this past weekend, and while we were gone one of my best friends had her first baby.

I was so excited to see him and went up to the hospital after I got home last night. Here is the first frame I took, and it’s my favorite.

He is precious. My friend Jessica is going to be such a great mom.

sweet lenora mae {newborn}

We were so excited to have the honor of photographing sweet little Lenora, or Nora as they plan to call her. This little beauty is my 3rd cousin, or 1st cousin twice removed…whatever is the “proper” way to say it. When my cousin Matthew contacted me about us photographing their baby when it arrived, I was giddy with excitement to meet her!

You may remember the blog post I did about my Grandma on her 93rd birthday and I mentioned she had her 2nd great, great, grandchild on the way…..

Look at that sweet little newborn face! She was so sweet and calm for the entire session.

Daddy Matthew and Mama Angie are going to be amazing parents. I can’t wait to watch them all grow together.

This was my cousin’s suggestion. I was all for it. Lasted about 20 seconds.

Matthew and Angie, thanks so much for having us over to capture Lenora in her first days! She is so precious. When I showed these photos to Priya she said, “I love her. I am so glad she is my cousin.”

baby joseph {newborn}

We had the honor of photographing tiny man Joseph when he was 10 days old. We did this session in early December, and his family has been oh so patient waiting for these.

He was such a sweetie. I have NEVER seen a baby that was so attentive at this age. He knew every step we took and could follow us with his eyes everywhere, but he stayed quiet. In fact, the only time he made much noise at all was when he wasn’t swaddled up. He loved to be warm and cozy.

I just adore doing newborn sessions. Not only for the obvious reason (they are mushy balls of sweet sugar you could just eat up)…but also the honor of being able to witness the birth of a family. Wether it is a first child, or an additional child, a new family is reborn as each one comes into this world. I can’t think of many things that are more magical in life. I think having photos done in those first few early days is such an important thing….to capture this new glowing love between each person.

Stephanie and Chris welcomed baby Sophie into this world last month, and they couldn’t possibly be more happy.

eveline mae {before + after}

I have had the same group of girlfriends for what seems like forever. We all went to a very small elementary/high school, and we formed relationships that resemble “sisters” more than just “friends.” Most of us met at different stages along the way, but the group of us have been tight ever since.

Nearly 11 years ago, I was young. Tracy and I were in the same prego boat. We had no clue what we were doing, but we managed to bring a little boy and a little girl into this world just 5 months apart. We were kind of pioneers in this new world of motherhood amongst our friends, but we had a lot of fun together trying to figure things out. We spent many days hanging out together with our little ones, and together watched them grow. She also watched as I had another, and another, and another….she took her time a bit more. When my girlfriends found out that Tracy and her hubby Jason were expecting their second baby, 10 yrs. after their first, WE WERE THRILLED!

A couple weekends ago I hosted a baby shower for her. Tracy’s sister was due just a couple weeks before her and it was great seeing two beautiful pregnant ladies. We had a fall theme, and Brett made some fantastic squash soup. One of my favorite things we did was each decorate “onesies” for the baby.

Tracy wanted to be surprised on the sex of the baby, which I think is rad and is what we did on all 4. I’ll tell you, it’s the best surprise in the world!!!

Minus a couple of “the girls,” here we are.

And then….SHE arrived one week after the shower!!! Eveline Mae graced us all with her presence in this world a little earlier than expected.

Mama and her girl…I have to say how odd it is saying that, since Nate has been their only child for 10 years. But what a wonderful blessing.

Nate is going to be an amazing big brother! He is very sweet with her.

She is so precious….my ovaries were starting to hurt. (just kidding mom!)

baby paige {fives weeks old}

Welcome little Paige Janelle….She was 5 weeks old when I came over to her house to photograph her. What a little cutie!

Here is Paige getting some love by Mommy and Daddy (Brittany and Joel). It is so much fun watching new parents. They are just as cute as the babies.

Paige was so cute! Every time the camera was on her, she was well aware. This was her “Vogue” pose.

See what I mean? She was staring right at me!!

Did I mention she was brilliant? This is her after I said, “How many weeks old are you Paige?”

This is Paige’s Aunt Janelle, who she gets her middle name from.

Naked time! Paige was not interested in looking at me…she just wanted to look out the window.

Love her yummy baby rolls.

When my daughter saw me working on these she said, “Wow, she is SOOO lucky to have so much hot pink.”

She went to sleep for just a minute or so.

At the end, everyone got Paige dressed up and we went out to get some fresh spring air.
